What does a cosmetic formulation service include?
Phytofusion Labs's formulation service covers the brief, ingredient selection, lab prototypes, rounds of refinement, stability and packaging compatibility checks, and a documented final formula ready for manufacturing. Pilot and commercial batches can be made in the same facility.
How long does it take to develop a custom cosmetic formula?
First prototypes are typically ready in 2 to 3 weeks from an approved brief. Most projects reach an approved formula in 6 to 10 weeks, depending on complexity and the number of revision rounds. Stability testing runs alongside.
How much does custom cosmetic formulation cost in India?
Phytofusion Labs quotes a fixed development fee upfront, based on product type and complexity. Brands are asked to share a target cost per unit at the brief stage so the chemists formulate to that number from day one, avoiding surprises later.
Who owns the formula?
Ownership terms are agreed in writing before work starts. Brands can choose a full formula buyout or an exclusive manufacturing arrangement. Every project is covered by an NDA.
Can you develop clean, vegan or fragrance-free products?
Yes. Phytofusion Labs regularly formulates to clean, vegan, fragrance-free, sensitive-skin and custom free-from lists, and can reformulate existing products to remove specific ingredients while keeping performance and texture.
Do you also manufacture the products you formulate?
Yes. Phytofusion Labs formulates and manufactures under one roof, with batches from a few thousand units to tens of thousands of units, plus filling and packing. The formula that is approved in the lab is the formula that ships, with no tech-transfer loss between a separate lab and factory.
Do you work with international brands?
Yes. Phytofusion Labs works with brands in India and overseas, including the US, and can formulate to the ingredient and labelling requirements of the target market.
